Arsenal vs Chelsea this Sunday
Chelsea host Arsenal this Sunday at Stamford Bridge who have failed to win a game at Stamford Bridge since 2011. The game is going to be very tough as Chelsea has lost to Arsenal 3 out of 4 times since Antonio Conte’s arrival.
Conte lost to Arsenal 3-0 last September as well but he did manage to win 3-1 against them in February.
The Italian manager is said to be suffering from a throat infection. This will prove to be very beneficial for us as he won’t be able to express himself fully to his squad.
Communication between the players and managers is important, especially during the match when the manager feels like a player isn’t doing something he should be.
Here’s what our rivals had to say about us:
Ex-Arsenal man Cesc Fabregas dubbed the clash between Arsenal vs Chelsea a “tough, tough game”. He said after their 6-0 win against Qarabag:
“We are just focusing on Arsenal now which is a tough, tough game on Sunday.
“It’s a very difficult period for us. You could see the coach rotated five players.
“We have seven games in 21 days, that’s not what we are used to from last year because the Champions League is in the middle and last year it wasn’t there.
“We have to be on top, and as the coach says eat well and sleep well, and try to recover well for Sunday.”
Cesar Azpilicueta called the Arsenal vs Chelsea “special” and he also said:
“It was a really disappointing start, the loss against Burnley. It was not expected by anyone, but the reaction of the team was very good.
“Now we have had three wins in a row, some tough games, and now we have confidence and we will try to keep going.
“It’s always special to play against Arsenal, it’s a London derby.
“It’s true they have lost two games already but we are focused on doing our game in front of our fans at Stamford Bridge.
“We know the atmosphere the stadium gets in those type of games and we will try to carry on our winning streak.”
N’Golo Kante also shared his thoughts about the clash against Arsenal. He was quick to note that our club record signing Alexandre Lacazette is a key threat and will play an important role in the derby. He said that:
“I think maybe in England, you don’t know him very well.
“But in France, he was a very good goalscorer who scored for many, many years and he will be a threat for Sunday’s game.
“We have to be ready to stop him but the most important thing is the team and we need to win.”
The clash will be important in determining who the biggest club in London is. And yes it’s always special to play against a team of Chelsea’s caliber who bring out the best in us.
We hope to replicate our match winning performance against Chelsea. It’s not going to be an easy win.
