Italian giants don’t want Ozil.
Have you ever heard of someone who wouldn’t want Ozil? Never thought I’d say this but yes there is a club who passed the opportunity of signing Ozil.
Mesut Ozil is the most expensive German player of all time. He was also Arsenal’s record signing before they bought Alexandre Lacazette.
Arsenal purchased Ozil for £42.5 million (€50 million) for a five-year deal in 2013 from Real Madrid.
Who knew these 5 years would pass so fast.
Ozil has entered the final year of his contract and he’s yet to sign a contract extension. And rumors has it, whatever offer Arsenal make to the German he’ll snub it.
Arsenal are on the verge of losing a tremendous player. A player who once was their record signing might leave at the end of the summer for nothing.
Rumors also say Ozil wants £300,000 a week but Arsenal aren’t willing to pay him that. Arsenal were willing to cut their damage to a minimum by offering the German star to Italian giants Inter Milan.
Arsenal wanted a swap deal in which they’d get Portuguese midfielder Joao Mario in return. The Portuguese midfielder has played in all six of his side’s games and started only half of those and dished out 3 assists.
The Londoners were expecting a positive response. But to their dismay, Inter don’t want Ozil. Crazy, right?
And it seems to be for all the right reason as they can’t meet the players financial demands.
If he were to sign for Inter he’d want a massive signing on fee with a huge salary. He has already rejected a £225k a week to stay at Arsenal.
Martin Keown, ex Arsenal defender believes German’s time at Arsenal is up as Arsene Wenger no longer trusts him.
“I think he loves playing football, Sanchez, I don’t see there’s an issue with him,”
“Ozil of the two players, are they going to sign, aren’t they, is the one I wouldn’t trust as much mentally, and I believe he’s not playing tonight because the gaffer really can’t trust him anymore.
“I think it’s a huge story that Ozil doesn’t play tonight.
“If you look at their pre-seasons, Ozil wasn’t in the German squad in the summer, he came back on the very first day of pre-season, and didn’t then start the season, there was a bit of suspicion around him.”
We hope Mesut renews soon and lets go of his greed so he can prove everyone wrong and stay at Arsenal for many years to come.
