No club wants to sign Ozil on his terms
Yes. You’ve heard it right. The German who joined us in 2013 and who was once our record signing now is no longer wanted by any club because of his crazy wage demands.
Ozil who is one of our star players is on the last year of his contract. He had no intentions of renewing unless Arsenal would meet his absurd demands. Arsenal went as high as £275k. But the German didn’t want a penny less than £350k per week.
He is running out of contract next season. And apparently, he hasn’t managed to convince any club to pay the desired sum.
There were rumors of Inter Milan being interested in the German attacking midfielder. But they backed out when they heard about his wage demands.
Talks were also being held with Besiktas, but they also backed out when they learned that the German midfielder seeks £17m a year.
The German star is currently suffering from a knee injury. Wenger has expressed his desire to keep the ex Real Madrid player next season at the Emirates. Even after all of the drama he created.
Manchester United are also interested and they could pay the attacking midfielder’s wage demands if they want to.
Ozil’s representatives spoke recently, and this is what he had to say:
‘Ozil wants to play another 2-3 years in the Premier League,’
‘Talks with Arsenal are ongoing regarding a new deal, what I can say right now is that negotiations are going well.’
This could be good news. Since, no other club is willing to pay his wage demands. Thus, he decided to stay where he is but get a better deal then he already is. We agree he deserves more than he’s earning but not as much as he’s demanding.
It’d be a great achievement for Arsenal if they manage to keep him at Arsenal next season.
