ARSENAL ON THE VERGE OF SIGNING 33 YEAR OLD SPANISH GIANTS STAR

The Gunners have been weak at the back for quiet some time now. Unai Emery brought reinforcements but it seems the team can be improved far more. Rumor has it Arsenal were alarmed when they found that 33 Year Old Spanish Giants Star wants a move away from the club.

Arsenal have been alerted of the Brazilian Born Atletico Madrid full back Felipe Luis situation. Who was pushing for a move away from the Los Rojiblancos.

PSG were on put on high alert.

Atleti put a price tag on Felipe Luis which the French Champions were unwilling to pay.

The price tag was believe to be around 30 million euros.

Atleti put such a high price tag on the 33 Year Old Spanish Giants Star because there was very little time in the transfer window and they couldn’t find replacements in such a short time.

Sources close to Felipe Luis said,

They have spoken and they will speak with the player,

making it clear to him that he is considered an important part of the squad for both the club and the coach,

The wish is for him to stay.

he knows what he has to bring [in terms of a transfer fee] if he does want to leave.

Atleti have no plans to negotiate with the price they tag they have set on their full-back.

No formal offers have been made from PSG. But there seems to be a principle agreement between PSG and Felipe Luis.

French Champions have offered him a 2 year contract along with a year’s extension if he achieves the goals set for him.

Felipe Luis’ side of the story:

According to him the club went out of their way to “make his image worse“.

There was a chance to go to PSG,

I spoke to Atletico and asked them to let me go, just as they had released Gabi [who moved to Al Sadd] recently.

The club said that it wasn’t the same situation, despite similar periods of time remaining on our contracts.

In my situation there was little time before the window closed and finding a replacement would have been difficult.

When they said they did not want me to leave and they set a price that was not going to be paid, I accepted.

They said that I tried to force a move, but it’s a lie. I’ve got history with Atletico and it made me sad.

They tried to make my image worse at the club.

THIS IS WHERE ARSENAL COME IN:

Arsenal have been following the Brazilian’s situation closely. Emery isn’t satisfied with the quality of full backs we have right now. We can move for him as early as January.

Since, his contract will end next summers. And it seems Felipe Luis has no plans to renew his contract.

So, Atleti might have to take a cut price deal.

He formerly played for our London rivals Chelsea FC.

Three weeks ago he told beIN SPORTS that his club weren’t willing to let him go.

Three weeks ago I held a meeting with the club to tell them where I stood,

But the club told me that they did not want me to leave and would not negotiate a transfer. From then on in I did not push for an exit

He’ll be a great addition to our club. And surely he’ll aid us in fixing our defensive woes this year. ')}

Arsenal interest

Barcelona star makes decision on Arsenal move as Spanish forward confirms Arsenal interest. Catch up on the latest transfer news and rumors relating Arsenal here!

Marco Asensio’s agent says Arsenal interested

One of the most oft named players to be linked with Arsenal is Real Madrid winger Marco Asensio. The winger first emerged onto the scene as a young wonderkid back in 2017/18.

Goals against Barcelona and salvaging games for Real Madrid in that season saw Asensio’s stocks soar. However, injuries and lack of game time ever since has seen him relegated to a secondary role ever since.

Nevertheless, this season the 25 year old has seen his form look a bit more like the Asensio of old. Several English clubs, including Arsenal and Serie A giants AC Milan are said to be interested.

The player’s agent said: “We are proud of Milan’s interest. The Rossoneri are an option even if there are offers from a couple of English clubs, including Arsenal. We are ready to evaluate every option.”

Araujo close to renewing with Barca despite Arsenal interest

It looks highly unlikely now that Arsenal target Ronald Araujo will be moving away from Camp Nou. All of this comes as the Uruguayan’s agent has hinted that the club and player are close to agreeing a new deal for him.

Despite of interest from numerous English clubs, including Arsenal who were willing to pay double what Barca was offering. The center-back has decided to accept a lower salary to stay with the Blaugranas.

His agent, Perchman, said this, via ESPN. “It’s close[the renewal]. There is a desire on both sides [to renew] and Ronald wants to stay at the club.”

Members of Barcelona’s board have also confirmed this deal. Both parties were keen, but the club had to be harsh with negotiations due to the club’s dire financial straits.

Arsenal Depay

Arsenal are on the hunt in the market to replace their outgoing striker and they’ve targeted Depay

Arsenal are keen on replacing their outgoing striker with Memphis Depay in the summer. Other clubs such as Everton, Juventus, and newly taken over Newcastle are all looking for his signature, according to Superdeporte.

The Dutch star has had a troubled season at Barcelona so far. The forward is Blaugrana’s top scorer this season, however has seen himself play second fiddle to other forwards since January after Xavi returned as manager.

Memphis Depay passes Benzema in Lyon scorers' chart

Depay moved to Barca on a free after impressing throughout his time at Lyon

Depay looked like he was finally at the right place under former manager Ronald Koeman earlier this season. However, the Dutch manager’s sack and Depay’s own injuries have seen him ousted as a starter for Barcelona.

A forward line that regularly features Torres, Aubameyang and Ousmane Dembele, Depay finds it hard to displace any.

Depay joined Manchester United back in 2015. However, the then 21-year-old disappointed massively and was sent to Lyon in a season and half.

Nevertheless, he earned a much deserved free move to Barcelona with his scintillating showings in France. The Dutch forward has 10 goals and 2 assists so far this season.

Since Depay only joined on a two year deal, Barcelona feel this is their best chance at cashing in on him. Arsenal want to replace strikers Auba, Lacazette and Nketiah who all left or will leave on a free.

Arsenal are not the only club looking at Depay

Depay can also fill in at the striker position, even though his main position is the left wing. This has led to three Premier League clubs, Arsenal, Everton and Newcastle target him for the summer.

Arsenal hope to replace Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang with another star, while Newcastle hope to make a statement signing.

Everton will be hoping to renovate their whole squad over the summer, if they avoid relegation that is.

However, now according to Catalan news agency Sport, there are several suitors for the winger. Newcastle have now joined the race to lure over a resurgent Phillipe Coutinho in a bid to send a statement.

The North East side certainly have the finances to satisfy the player since their Saudi takeover. Reports have suggested that Arsenal have also been looking at the Brazilian.

Arteta and director Edu are both keen on snatching the magician over to the Emirates. However, this deal might not be as easy or simple as it seems.

Coutinho to Aston Villa: Can Gerrard help former Liverpool team-mate put Barcelona nightmare behind him? | Goal.com

Gerrard and Coutinho shared the same dressing room at Anfield for a number of years

“Phil wouldn’t have come here if he didn’t believe in the club, if he didn’t believe in the people.

“He has experienced playing here as a player for many years with Liverpool. I think the compliment should go to the club. First and foremost the ambition from above to make it happen to get a player like Phil in.”

Regardless, it is rather obvious that due to their previous relationship as teammates at Liverpool, Gerrard has leverage on making the Brazilian stay put.
